HOT AIR BALLOON FLIGHTS

PRICE:

SPE012 – HOT AIR BALLOONING PRICE: AS FROM EURO PRICE: AS FROM USD
per person 230 270

Ballon FlightsHot air ballooning is the oldest and safest form of air travel. The guests take off at dawn to utilise the stable weather conditions. Balloons move with the wind, so there is no feeling of motion at all.
There is no finer place on earth over which to experience the exhilaration of a balloon flight than Africa! Imagine drifting over the Crocodile River or gliding silently over the African bush observing animals in their natural habitat. Go wherever the wind takes you and discover the splendour of Southern Africa!

  • In the Pilanesberg operation:
Passenger flights take place daily. Transfer is provided from various hotels and lodges in and around the Sun City complex to the launch site. The collection time varies with the sunrise time. Every vehicle has a game ranger aboard and the 40 minute drive to the launch site is the ideal time for early morning game sightings. The passengers arrive to inflated balloons and will take off into the sunrise! The flying time varies from approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the size of the group and the time agreed on. On landing, the pilot will serve champagne and orange juice to celebrate the sheer exhilaration of the experience. The rangers transport the passengers back through the park to a lodge for a delicious breakfast. Once more an ideal opportunity for game spotting and for asking the ranger any questions that they might have regarding the game. (Please bear in mind that the Parksboard allows a maximum of two balloons at a time to fly.)

  • At the Johannesburg launch site, the guests launch at sunrise time, and fly over the Crocodile River Valley. These flights take place on a daily basis, with a minimum of 4 passengers. Tea and coffee is served prior to the flight and champagne and orange juice on landing. After the flight the pilot and ground crew will escort the guests back for a full English breakfast.

  • The Magalies River Valley and nearby Hartebeespoort Dam area boast some of the best ballooning weather in the world. Quaff champagne as you go and enjoy what some describe as the closest thing to heaven known to man the "magical experience" of lazily drifting with the wind in a hot air balloon, on a fascinating aerial sightseeing flight over the beautiful countryside bordering Gauteng and North-West Province.

After landing, which can be most fun of all, the ground crew, who have been following in the "retrieve vehicle" will collect the guests and drive them back to base where the catering staff have freshly cooked a hearty "champagne breakfast". The guests will also be awarded a "citation for bravery", with due ceremony, after which the transport returns the guests to the hotel by about mid-day.

Guests are requested to bring camera, video, binoculars.
Clothing: warm jacket (which can be removed) for the cool early morning.
Physical fitness: participants should be nimble, be able to jump from a height of 60 cm and stand for the duration of the flight.
